Group 4 -Irfan: I learnt about the difference among all the tribes.I learnt how the tribes hunt down animals.The Tunku Putra School students are very kind and friendly and they teach me things I don’t know and the house was made by bamboos plank and iron woods
Group 4-Dzulmatin: The villagers started from basic e.g wood to concrete. Every building is built nearby the lake so that they can collect water. All the houses were made by bamboos, plank and iron wood. The school we visits this morning was very good and they told us other facts about space.
I have went to a international school today,I learned how the students study in the school I really liked it.And I also went to a cultural tour in the Sarawak village.all the house were made by bamboo and wood.i also learned how they hunt down small animals. Group 4-Chi Ling
Group 3- We went to Tunku Putra International School. We went and made friends, as well as we learnt to be more confident as we approach the students to make friends. We also went to Sarawak Cultural Village and we learnt about the different cultures. We realised that apart from the Malay, there are other races such as the Iban, Bidayuh and a lot more. We found that all of them has something in common which is they practice headhunting. We tried to force Mrs Ong to dance( bamboo dance), but to no avail.We realised that bird nest and pepper are precious resources of the country. We ended the day with buying stuff and almost lost a Tat Hong, as he was 5m from us. We learnt from Tat Hong that we should stay together as a group and don’t leave your wallet on the ground when going to the toilet.
Group 4:Melvin:I learnt that the orang ulu people performs ‘Datun Julud’ to welcome the guests of the longhouse and the longhouse is mostly made of wood,bamboos and planks

Group 4:LimSiYa
I has visit the 7 different types of longhouse and tall house,I learnt how they survive by building a tall house to protect themselves from wild animals, hunters and flooding of water.I also know some of their longhouse and tall house made out of woods and bamboos.I also learnt their traditional dance and get to experience it.
Group 1 and 2:
Tunku Putra International School – We joined a class of P5 students for lesson. Most of us liked the air conditioned classroom (especially Martin). The lesson was about the importance of recycling and how can we save the fishes in the ocean through recycling of plastics. The teacher, Mr Andy was friendly and encouraged us to answer questions. We got to built our dream theme park with the international students using recycled materials. Some of us find the classroom small as it is probably for 20 students. However, we were happy working together with our new friends. Mr Andy shared with us the personal values of the school, Morality, Thoughtfulness, Resilience, Communication, Respect, Cooporation, Adaptability and Enquiry. We enjoyed the lesson because we have the opportunity to show our creativity when building the theme park. There is a playground beside the canteen which most of us have a great time climbing and hanging. Some of us suggested that we should have our own playground at BHPS.
Sarawak Cultural Village –
On the way to the Cultural Village, the tour guide shared with us that the old palm leaves were used to make roofs of the long houses. Young leaves of the palm were used to make ketupat and fisherman’s hats.
She mentioned that the Cultural Village cost 9 million ringgit to built. At the village, we visited the 7 traditional houses, namely, Chinese farm house, Malay town house, Melanau tall house, Orang Ulu longhouse, Penan hut, Iban longhouse and Bidayuh longhouse. At the Chinese farm house we learnt how the white pepper had its skin removed and 98% of pepper in Malaysia come from Sarawak. We also learnt that the bird nest in Sarawak is collected from caves and in houses. A lady showed us how to remove the feather from the bird’s saliva.
At the Malay town house, some of us danced to the music played by two ladies. The guide told us that if the roof of a house has a stick pointing to the sky meant that the family is well respected.
At the Melanau house, we learnt that the tall pillars that support the house so that they will not be affected by flood and to prevent wild animals entering the house. Each pillar is made from a tree trunk.
At the Penan hut, we saw how the blowpipe was used. Penans are also the nomads of Sarawak.
At the Ipan house, we saw drawing of a tree with red dots. The dots represent the number of families. We also listened to music played using the sate. Some of us got to dance together with the guide.
At the Bidayuh long house, we learnt that up to 20 families can live in 1 such house. They lived in harmony. Bidayuh grew their rice on the hills.
